Your Video Invitation

Rediscovering the Fire of Everyday Life—June 14-17, 2011—presented by Dr. R. Scott Colglazier at Villa Il Trebbiolo in Tuscany.

Pool Among the Olive Trees

We want you to have your own personal invitation to the upcoming retreat in Italy. That’s a bit of a challenge since the diverse group of participants will come from across the United States, and perhaps even from around the world. Since we can’t visit with each of you to share our excitement, the next best thing is to arrive at your doorstep by way of this video invitation. We hope you enjoy this personal touch and want to be part of this unique group, as it forms. And please, feel free to send this invitation on to anyone you know who may be interested in joining us.

Send Scott a message to reserve your place, or to ask any questions that are important in making your decision at: rscolglazier@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you!

Excitement is Building!

Welcome to Rediscovering the Fire of Everyday Life, June 14-17 2011—your personalized  retreat in beautiful and inspirational Tuscany.

Picture this:

Pool Among the Olive Trees

You awaken with the sound of chirping birds in the nearby trees. You may start your day with gentle stretches by the pool just before breakfast in the loggia. Bask in the early sun that dances through stone arches and across the old ocher walls.  Curl up with a book while lounging in the olive grove. Meander through a meadow full of wild flowers. Take a stroll in the nearby woods after an engaging morning retreat session with Scott on “being fully alive.”

Woods Walk

Response to our initial announcement has been fantastic! Thanks to all those who have enthusiastically answered the call! For those who have not yet responded, we encourage you to let us know as soon as possible since there are a limited number of spaces available. We want to keep the group small to enhance personal interaction and encourage participation. To be part of this special event, please check your calendar and pencil in: Italy in June! We would love to see you there!

Food for Thought

This is the second in a series of communications about the retreat to help guide you through the process of registering. We want you to have all of the necessary information, along with plenty of delicious words and pictures to feed your imagination, entice you to consider the thought-provoking conversation and immerse you in the incredible sights, tastes and fragrances of this special Tuscan valley.

Now, picture your room in the Villa:

Villa Loggia

In the Villa, there are 3 different room types: 2 singles, 4 doubles, and 5 suites that can accommodate up to 4 people. The price for the retreat is $850 per person which includes all 3 nights, assuming a double room. For those who prefer a single room, they are $65 more for the three nights. For those interested in a suite for 4, the cost is $65 less per person for all three nights. Simply click this link to send us a message to register your intention to attend: rscolglazier@gmail.com

We will be asking for three payments: $250 by October 15, 2010, $250 by February 1, 2011, and $350 by May 1, 2011. Of course, we are happy to accept full payment if you prefer. Registration will close on October 15th.

Our excitement is building as we anticipate getting reacquainted or meeting you for the first time through our communications. Then, together, we can imagine the interesting group that will convene at the villa next summer.

We look forward to hearing from you

Ciao,

Retreat June 14-17, 2011

Scott

Rediscovering the Fire of Everyday Life presented by Dr. R. Scott Colglazier, June 14-17, 2011.

Join us in northern Tuscany where you can relax into your inner journey just 30 minutes from Florence, amidst rolling vineyards, olive groves, and moody cypress trees. Here, you will discover unparalleled beauty and settle into a pace reminiscent of quiet, simpler times. The Florentine countryside is the perfect setting for this unique retreat.

Villa il Trebbiolo

Comfortably housed in the historic Villa il Trebbiolo, you will enjoy wonderful Tuscan meals in the restaurant, walk the wooded trails, lounge in the loggia with a book, or swim in the pool nestled amongst the olive trees. Following the Retreat, take a day excursion into Firenze, Florence, where you can visit museums, churches, historic monuments or simply meander through the ancient stone streets. All of this and more is possible during your upcoming four days in Tuscany.

Formal Garden

The retreat will open on Tuesday June 14 with a community dinner at 8:00 p.m., where Dr. Colglazier will welcome all participants. In the midst of delicious food and wine, he will outline the upcoming retreat experience. Sessions will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning, concluding with a celebratory Tuscan lunch. Included in the Retreat will be some remarkable storytelling interludes with Cheryl and Emerson Martlage, who live and work in a nearby Tuscan farmhouse and studio—all within walking distance of Il Trebbiolo. Marti Colglazier will lead the group each morning in some gentle body movement and imaginative meditation.

Valley View

Dr. Colglazier has the following comments in anticipation of the retreat: “As many of you already know, one of my guiding mantras is that ‘The greatest glory to God is a human being fully alive.’ During this retreat experience, we will explore what it means to be alive to daily life. How do we nurture our creativity? How do we find peace in the midst of daily stress? How do we embrace the life we have in order to find the life we want? How do we find more joy and zest and energy for living? How do we discover more poetry in our daily living? And most of all, how do we discover the presence of God in daily experience? These questions and more will be explored during our retreat experience in Tuscany.”

It is assumed that people will vacation before or after the retreat. Those plans and transportation are the responsibility of each person. The price for the retreat covers the three-night stay at Il Trebbiolo and meals during our time together. For the sake of the retreat experience, all participants are asked to be at the Villa by Tuesday, June 14 and not leave until the retreat concludes on Friday, June 17. To say the least, this will be a remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime, transformative experience.

On August 20th we will update this site with additional information about the retreat. In the meantime, begin planning . . . begin dreaming! The cost of the retreat is $850 (depending on room selection), which includes three nights in the beautiful Villa, all meals from Tuesday evening through lunch on Friday, and of course, the creative and inspirational experience of the retreat itself. We have reserved the villa for a maximum of 20 retreat participants in order to enhance interactions and provide an ambiance of old Tuscan charm.

To set the mood and encourage your participation, we invite you to listen to the original song, Tuscan Hills and read a short story by Cheryl and Emerson.

If you are interested in participating in this event, please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to Scott at rscolglazier@gmail.com.

You will find additional information about Scott, Marti, Cheryl and Emerson by clicking the about label, just under the banner above.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
